Terms of Service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
LiveLingo (“LiveLingo,” “the Service,” “we,” “us”) is provided by Vertex Digital. By creating an account, joining a session, or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms. If you are using LiveLingo for an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
LiveLingo listens to a speaker, converts the speech to text, translates it into a chosen language, and shows the result live to everyone who has joined that session with its session code. Some plans also save transcripts and allow a custom glossary. The Service is software only. No human interpreter is involved at any point.
3. Accounts and Session Codes
Speakers need an account. You must give accurate information, keep your sign-in details confidential, and you are responsible for everything done under your account. Session codes are short and time-limited; anyone with a valid code can read that session. Share codes only with people you intend to give access, and end a session when it is over.
4. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to:
- break any law, or transcribe people without the consent required where you are;
- commit fraud, send spam, or impersonate another person or organization;
- infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
- interfere with the security of the Service, including malware, probing, scraping, load testing, or attempts to bypass session codes or plan limits;
- resell, redistribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.
5. Limitations on Use — Machine Translation
LiveLingo uses automated speech recognition and machine translation. Output is generated by software, is not reviewed by a human interpreter, and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies — including in ways that change the meaning of what was said. LiveLingo is not a certified, qualified, or professional interpretation service.
You agree not to use LiveLingo, and not to permit its use, in any of the following:
(a) medical, clinical, dental, behavioral health, or emergency-medical settings, including diagnosis, treatment, consent, triage, or patient intake;
(b) legal proceedings, law enforcement contact, immigration matters, or any setting where the exchange is testimony, sworn, or intended to create legal rights or obligations;
(c) emergency, life-safety, or public-safety communication, including evacuation, hazardous-materials, or emergency-response instruction;
(d) any setting where a mistranslation could result in physical injury, death, loss of liberty, loss of legal rights, or financial harm.
Where applicable law, regulation, or accreditation requires a qualified or certified human interpreter, you must use one. LiveLingo is not a substitute for that requirement and does not satisfy it.
You are solely responsible for determining whether LiveLingo is appropriate for your use, and for verifying any communication where accuracy matters. LiveLingo is provided “as is,” without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. Privacy and Recordings
Speech spoken into a session is processed to produce text and translations, and on some plans transcripts are saved to your account. If you are the speaker, you are responsible for telling participants that the session is being transcribed and translated, and for obtaining any consent your state, country, or setting requires before you begin. Some places require the consent of every person present. LiveLingo does not obtain consent on your behalf.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Notice.
7. Intellectual Property
We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, documentation, and branding. Your plan grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within that plan’s limits. You keep ownership of your speech, transcripts, and glossary terms, and grant us a limited license to host, process, and translate that content solely to provide the Service to you and your session participants.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not warrant that any translation is accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or any harm arising from reliance on a translation. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
10. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LiveLingo and Vertex Digital from any claim, loss, damage, penalty, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service outside the Limitations on Use section above, from your failure to use a qualified or certified human interpreter where one is required, from your content, or from your breach of these terms.
11. Payment and Plans
Plans are billed in advance at the price shown on our pricing page and renew until cancelled. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all orders and handles billing inquiries and returns. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms and will post the new version on this page with a new “last updated” date. If a change is material we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms: contact Vertex Digital using the email address on your receipt. Billing questions are handled by Paddle at paddle.net.
